Health and Physical Education

The aim of the health and physical education program is for students to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to lead healthy, safe and active lives. Students learn about their strengths and actions they can take to keep themselves and their classmates healthy and safe.

Health curriculum

The Health curriculum focuses on Personal, Social and Community Health and is enhanced by regular visitors to the school such as ‘Boof the Barra’ (Water Safety), Hector the Cat (Road Safety) and presenters of programs such as Being Croc Wise’, Safety House and Day for Daniel. The Police Youth Engagement Officer also provides presentations at assemblies and in classrooms about keeping safe.

Physical Education program

Physical Education program

The PE program focuses on Movement and Physical activity and is enhanced through visiting coaches from a variety of sporting organisations eg AFL, Soccer, Cricket, Netball etc. In 2015 we have developed a partnership with NT Golf and Tennis NT with coaches coming into the school to present programs and a pathway developed for those with potential or high interest.

Sports Day

A major highlight of the year is the annual Sports Day where the focus is on participation rather than competition and bringing the community into the school.
