Outdoor Education and Sport

In addition to the regular Physical Education in which all students participate, other opportunities exist for students to participate in various physical activities including school camps.

School Camps

School camps promote the development of personal and social skills including leadership, resourcefulness, independence, resilience, teamwork and respect for others. They also strengthen the relationship with their teacher and fellow students, in an environment outside of the normal school environment.

Year 3 and 4

Year 3 and 4 students will be given the opportunity to participate in an excursion then ‘sleep over’ at school.

Year 5 and 6

Year 5 and 6 students can participate in a 3 day / 2 night camp off the school site where they engage in outdoor and leadership activities. In 2017, the camp will be at Adventure Bound, Camp Wallaroo.

Sports Carnivals

The school holds annual sports carnivals and participates in Interschool Athletics Carnivals through the Palmerston and Rural Region Schools’ Try Days.

The opportunity exists for talented children to represent the school, the Palmerston and Rural Region, and the NT in various sports.
