The Arts

The Arts are seen as a very important part of the curriculum as it is focused on enjoyment and assists children develop confidence and enhance their learning in other curriculum areas such as literacy and numeracy.

About our arts program

A specialist teacher, teaches Drama, Dance and Music to classes across the school. The elements of music are taught through listening, singing, playing instruments, dancing and moving.

Students in years 4 to 6 are able to participating in the school choir. Every Year the Year 5/6 choir participate in the Beat Festival.

Teachers from the NT School of Music offer instrumental music tuition to students in Years 5 and 6. We have this year formed a small school band which we hope will grow in future years.

Visual Art lessons are taught by the classroom teacher. Every year quality art work from across the year levels is exhibited in the Palmerston Senior College Art Exhibition.
